Manage Product

The "Manage Product" page in the KSB Meat program allows you to create, edit, and manage product information. Follow the steps below to effectively use the "Manage Product" feature:

Step 1: Access the Manage Product Page

  • Log in to the KSB Meat program and navigate to the "Manage Product" page. This page is located under the file maintenance.

Step 2: Create a New Product

  • Click on the "Add New Product" button to create a new product. This will open a form where you can enter the product details.

Step 3: Enter Product Information

  • Fill out the required fields such as product code, description, unit of measurement (UOM), and other relevant details. Ensure that the product code and description are unique to avoid conflicts.

Step 4: Set UOM and UOM2

  • Choose the appropriate unit of measurement (UOM) for the product, such as case, box, piece, etc. Set UOM2 if required, which is a secondary unit of measurement. For example, if one case equals four pieces, set the conversion accordingly.

Step 5: Select Selling Method

  • Determine the selling method from the dropdown box. You can choose between selling by catch weight, fixed weight, or by quantity (QTY).

Step 6: Choose Product Category and Type

  • Select a product category that fits the product. Note that if the category is "Charges," it will not display in the sales reports. Choose the appropriate product type as well.

Step 7: Enter AvgCost and Stock Information

  • Manually enter the product cost, current quantity, stock quantity minimum, stock weight minimum, and total weight of the product if necessary. Leave these fields blank if you don't want to enter the information.

Step 8: Set Default Accounts

  • Optionally, you can manually enter the default sales account, default cost of sales account, and default inventory account for the product. Leave these fields blank if you don't want to enter the information.

Step 9: Save the Product

  • After entering all the required information, click on the "Save" button to save the product in the system.

Step 10: Manage Existing Products

  • To edit or manage existing products, locate the product in the product list and click on the "Edit" button. This will allow you to make changes to the product details or delete the product if needed.

By effectively utilizing the "Manage Product" page in the KSB Meat program, you can create, edit, and manage product information, ensuring accurate inventory management and sales tracking.
